Royals are very strange, spiritual beings that simply exist. They can live for hundreds of thousands of years, and though they may disappear at times, they never seem to die. They are not immortal. They do eventually die, just, it is very rare for anyone to witness it. They have immense powers of extraordinary magnitude and a mental and physical ability to rule over many. Through this, they accumulate much wealth whenever they wish to and can build empires for themselves where nothing was thought possible to stand before. Hence why they are called Royals.
Politically and socially, Royals take no sides, making them the only species to be considered True Neutral. Though they do fight wars, they do not instigate them. They may fight on someone's side but it is merely out of impulse and not from logical thought. They are as changing as the winds and as unpredictable as the weather. Many consider them untrustworthy, but they do take sides.
Royals can appear as pretty much anything so long as it is a humanoid form. There are no real genetics passed down to offspring, and no two Royals really ever look alike. Offspring themselves are seldom heard of or seen. Though Royals may take on companions of other races, they can never produce children with them. It is simply their physical nature not to. They can hardly breed with each other as it is. Royals don't seem to ever be born. They merely appear.
Royals are very wise and strong. To face one head on in battle is considered suicide. Royals seldom fight themselves, they will send in their own armies.
Their powers have no real correlation, only that they are immense. Royals have been known to rain giant balls of fire from the sky, block out the sun, send giant tidal waves crashing down, turn a hundred men into stone, make mountains come alive, and so many other grand scale phenomena. The most scary though, are the ones with well hidden powers. Those are the ones you cannot trust, for they most certainly will destroy you when least expected.
